My first try at punch needle, and I enjoyed it. It works up fast, and is so easy! This little guy is getting framed and put in our bedroom. It will fit into a 5x7 frame, so it's not a BIG project. I did buy 2 Christmas stocking kits that I am going to make for JJ and Cade, as they do not have stockings for Santa. I also am going to try and do this on clothing, I have checked on the net and found a site that explains how to transfer your design onto clothing, and then you can punch it! I want to make a sweatshirt with pretty fall leaves, and maybe one for Halloween!

Bellwood Community Picnic Throw

I finished this Friday night, it measures 50'' from point to point. It's a nice size, just right for a throw. I started JJ's Spiderman Round Ripple, twice! I had messed up reading the 3rd round and had 9 points instead of 12. So after trying 3 times, I got it. I'm such a blonde, if my hubby had not been talking to me when I started it I wouldn't have messed up!! Will post a pick when I get a few more rounds on it.

Round Ripple

I am giving the Round Ripple a try, and it's not hard at all. I started this last week, so the picture is old. I have a lot more rows on it now, just no new pic. I am giving this to the Bellwood Community Picnic, and want it done asap so it can be diplayed with the other items that are donated. Last year I was alittle late, and that afghan wasn't on display very long. I am going to make JJ a spiderman round ripple when this is done.

Pink Ribbon Lapghan

I finished the Pink Ribbon cancer lapghan today. I am going to run it through the wash and block it, and maybe go one more round on the boarder, I'm not sure yet.
I am planning on starting the Bellwood Community Picnic afghan tomorrow. I got the graphs done and all the yarn bought. I don't know if I should do it in the tunisian or just single crochet it...hummmm. It would give me an excuse to go to AC Moore tonight and get bobbins if I do it in single crochet..lol!

Winter is still here....

It's so cold out! 6 degrees, but it really feels like -10 below!! Brrrrrrrr!!
I have 3 squares left on the Cancer Pink Ribbon afghan, and if I could get my butt over to the sofa, I could get it finished in 2 days. I will work on it today, I swear! I messed around with a new crochet graph software I bought, and once you get the hang of it...it was easy! I printed out the two graph pics I had saved forever now, of the Bellwood Blue Devil and the letters BA(Bellwood Antis). I am going to make squares using the tunisian stitch, alternating between the two graphs....it's going to look really good!
Well, off to crochet!

Cade is now sitting up on his own with no support from anyone! And he is having a blast, he sits up, laughs, then lays back down to roll to a new spot..and repeats!! I have tried to get a picture of him laughing, but with no luck!

Here he is starting to giggle, but I snapped it to soon!

Baby Blanket/ Deer

I finished this baby blanket about 10 minutes ago! I started it this past weekend...not bad huh?!! I have looked high and low for a John Deere pattern, and found NOTHING! Sooooo...I made one. It turned out great! I rule! Anyway..it's for a friend of my Mom's, her son and his wife are having their first baby in March. They collect everything John Deere, and once Mom found out they were expecting she asked me to make a baby blanket. I said I would try to find a pattern for the John Deere, but only if they were having a boy. Well, it's cute and he'll be the first baby to have his own John Deere baby blanket!

Santa Visit

I haven't posted in a long time, Christmas had me busy! It was a great time this year, Hubby had this week off! He will be going back to work the same time the kids start back(Tuesday). It will be hard to get back into the swing of things! I have not been crocheting(GASP!)...my time has been spent playing Guitar Hero for PS2 with the husband...very addicting! I did start the third square this afternoon on the Pink Ribbon afghan. I know I will bust more out next week, when I get back on track!! The picture is of the boys with Santa and Mrs. Claus when they came to visit the weekend before Christmas. Cade wasn't sure about Santa, but he liked Mrs. Claus's hat and glasses! The neighbor kids had been outside playing, and once they heard Santa coming up the street they were all yelling " It's Christmas Eve...It's Christmas Eve!" No SNOW yet :o( , we really want to go sledding. And when I say "we"...I mean Erica and I..the kids could care less!

It's Done!

It's done, I finished it last weekend. Just getting around to posting the pics. I really like it, it turned out so nice. Except for the curled end, but I have learned from my mistake. I won't make my stitches to tight the next time. I have started the Pink Ribbon afgahn for the Relay for Life team. I have one square done and the second halfway done.

Taking FOREVER.....

Well, here's what I have done to date. I have 4 more to do...and of course it's the squares that have more colors hanging off the back. I'm not complaining...I should have done those first..and then the orange and yellow squares..they work up alot faster. I also think I am tired of working with all the brown. But I do love it, it is going to be so nice when it is all done.

Pics of Autumn Afghan

A close up of two more squares, there are 3 in each row, row one is done. I am on my 5th square, I wrote 4th below...wooohooo!

Just an update

Well I haven't posted in awhile, haven't really been busy..just can't get into a groove.I have been making charity squares, made 2 pink and white ones for a lady on Crochetville, and 2 green and tan ones for the comfortghan to be sent to Teri Irwin. I have 3 squares done for my Autumn afghan, a 4th one is started. I found the graph for the teacher and fireman afghans, that's going to be alot of work. The patterns call for single crochet, changing color as you go. But I don't want to do it that way. I am going to use the afghan stitch and make it up in sections. It will work out, just had to adjust it alittle. So...here is my list of afghans I plan on making this winter..
1.John Deer Baby Blanket(gift for family friend)
2.Pink Ribbon Cancer Awareness Afghan(Erica's Realy for Life Team)
3.Teacher Afghan(For JJ's teacher)
4.Bellwood Afghan(Graph made by me, for Communtiy Picnic)
5.Fireman Afghan(Would like to have this done for Fireman Convention)
That's it for winter! I can tell this will run into spring and summer as well!

Steeler's Stocking Hat

Here is the stocking hat, it wasn't hard to make..but does take alittle more time then I had planned. JJ really likes it and asked it he could have it for winter. They are a cute hat.

Autumn Leaves Square One

I have since scrapped the tree skirt I was planning on making. I did start it, but it wasn't working out for me. I then found the Autumn Leaves pattern. I really like the look of this afghan, and I am making for myself! I have never done the Tunisian stitch, so I had to learn. After pulling out the yarn three times I got it. I kept missing a stitch, and the square was very uneven. But I'm good now, and am working on the third block. It does get a bit frustrating when you have 3 or 4 different colors hanging off the back, and trying to keep all the skeins apart...lol. But it has such a nice look when it's done. I am going to make the pink ribbon afghan for Erica's Relay For Life team using this stitch. I will put the vein in the leaf when all the squares are done. Off I go....

WIP

I am now working on a Christmas Tree skirt. I don't think it will take long to do, the pattern seems easy enough. I finished the stocking hat and will post a pic later. I am getting tired and don't feel like messing with camera now. I also bought 2 patterns last night from www.e-patterns.com . The Autum Leaf and Butterfly afghan, I am giving the Butterfly one to my neighbor. I told her about it and she was very excited to see it. I am going to work on the Autum Leaf over the winter, and I am changing the colors. I don't want it so dark. Well..off I go!

Hat and Scarf

Here is my Mom's hat and scarf. It's so soft, that yarn would make a really nice afghan. To bad it's so darn expensive! I used Paton's Devine in Frost Green. One Christmas gift done!
